JOHNNY MOCCASIN
- Unsold Western Pilot
THE NIGHT RIDER - 1962 Johnny Cash Unsold Pilot -  The Night Rider was the pilot episode for a rejected anthology
series entitled "Gallaway House", awkwardly bookended with a Mr. Gallaway greeting and saying goodbye to
patrons in his old west playhouse. JOHNNY CASH plays Johnny Laredo, a sullen and haunted gunslinger
(reminiscent of Gregory Peck in The Gunfighter) traveling by night in order to avoid his many enemies. Also on
hand are country music legend Merle Travis (who also sings and plays) and 1940's B-western star Eddie Dean.
Basically, the plot is a dramatic retelling of Cash's hit song "Don't Take Your Guns To Town", ending with Johnny
singing it around the campfire with Merle and Eddie.

SHOW WAGON -
Show Wagon coming to town! Here it comes folks!  These were the happy cries of excited people who crowded the
streets of small towns in the early west.  Bands of entertainers travelinf from town to town in their show wagons
pushed into the west and became as much a part of it as the bronc busters and gunmen.  Their hardships were
many, at the fall of the curtain in one town they must move on playing town halls, saloons, and carnivals... often it
meant hurried lunches on roadsides. Friction, jealousies ad hurt feelings sometimes occurred but their gaiety and
spirit carried them on to the next town and show.  This story is about just such a hardy band of players travelling
into the frontier town of Bisbee, Arizona in 1878
