Pistols
And
Petticoats!
PISTOLS AND PETTICOATS 1966 FUN TV WESTERN - 6 Episodes
Pistols 'n' Petticoats chronicled the lives of the gun-slinging Hanks family, which
consisted of Grandpa (Andrew), his wife Grandma (Effie), widowed daughter
Henrietta, granddaughter (and Henrietta's daughter) Lucy, and their pet wolf
Bowser. The "Petticoats" being the Hanks ladies, of course, even though Lucy
(who was raised in the city) would spend more time being at odds with the rest
of the clan rather than helping protect their land. "The story goes that granma
was best at shootin' buttons off a rustler's vest. Granpa kept his gun in trim -
nobody messed around with him..." as the theme song went. All of the
characters would surprise the villains with their skills in the episodes. It was just
as well that they were so good, as the local sheriff (Gary Vinson) was a clumsy
stumble-bum - and Lucy's boyfriend.
6 Episodes: The Golden Fleece, Harold's Double, Wagonload of Wives, Sir
Richard of Wretched, Shoot-Out at the O'Day Corral, and The Triangle.
