Based upon the famous Radio Series.. Rare 24 of the 39 episodes!
Bill Forman served as narrator for The Whistler, continuing the role he had played
on radio. Each episode had a new cast; guests stars included King Donovan,
Charles McGraw, Irene Ryan, John Hoyt, Arthur Franz, Craig Stevens, Lon Chaney,
Ellen Corby, Art Gilmore, Dorothy Green, Harry Lewis and Maureen O’Sullivan.
Episodes involved blackmail, murder, con men, missing persons and other
unsavory goings-on. Print advertisements for the series declared that “Everyone
will enjoy this totally different mystery for, even though you know who’s guilty–
there’s always a big surprise before the final curtain”
