Rusty was orphaned in an Indian raid. He and his dog Rin Tin Tin were adopted by the troops at Fort Apache AZ and helped establish law and order in and around Mesa Grande. Over a span of five years this enduring 1950's series became a family favourite. It was set in a boy's idyllic adventureland, a fort in the Old West. The cavalry officer in charge was reliable Lieutenant Rip Masters; hilarious comedy was provided by Sergeant Biff O'Hara; and the boy was the fabulous, freckle-faced Rusty, who got to wear a mini-cavalry outfit and have an honorary title: Corporal Rusty.
